We warm the ceilings in a wooden house

03.eleven.2012

A cozy warm house is a dream of any person on earth where you can hide from rain, cold, wind. A house that warms up from the sun and saves heat for a long time. A lot of effort and means of housing insulation were spent. And with an increase in heating prices, the question arose about thermal insulation.

For reliable insulation of construction, it is not enough to pay attention only to the outer walls. The cold penetrates the house through the floors, basements, attics and roofs. It is good that in our time it is easy to find modern heater – thermal insulation materials. Very often, the owners of country and rural houses need thermal insulation of attic wood floors. It is easy to do, insulate and at the same time save the space of the room. Thermal insulation materials are laid directly between the wooden lags of the attic. Such materials include fiberglass heaters in the form of slabs or mats. The fiberglass mats are large and long, not very convenient to work, then universal URSA plates come to the rescue. Fiberglass should be covered with a special vapor barrier film. Sometimes it is replaced by pergamine or ordinary polyethylene, but then the service life of the fiberglass and the effectiveness of the entire structure are reduced.

Fiberglass or heat -insulating plates are laid very tightly between a wooden overlap and in several layers. Each next layer of insulation should block the joint of the previous row. Then the vapor barrier film is attached with a stapler or rails. Coating is overlapping, 10 centimeters. Such vapor barrier is intended to protect the heat of the fiberglass from the penetration of steam. Vapor barrier is always attached from the receipt of heat from the room. The heat -insulator mounting scheme will look like this: from the side of the roof – slate (tiles …), design from boards, insulation, vapor barrier, ceiling; From the basement – the floor of the living room from the boards, a film for vapor barrier, fiberglass, overlapping of the basement. Heat insulation made of fiberglass 15-20 cm thick will be enough to warm the ceilings.

Thermal insulation made of fiberglass will serve for a long time if it is reliably protected from moisture from both above and below. Damp her first enemy. It can be rain, and steam from the bathroom and kitchen, and moisture from the ground, which circulates all year round. There must be a reliable roofing for this. But if there is a risk of roof flow, it is necessary to make additional waterproofing in front of the fiberglass. The vapor -permeable waterproofing membranes are suitable – they protect against moisture, but do not delay the steam that gathered in thermal insulation. To preserve the heat insulator on the basement, it is enough to correctly do the ventilation of the underground.

If you lay the thermal insulation between the floors, it will allow you to heat each floor separately and save on fuel. In addition, this layer will perform the properties of soundproofing.

Observing these rules, you will save the house from the cold for many summer.
